NAFED offers seven online courses to provide technicians with training from the comfort of their own home or office. Courses include certification preparation training, general safety awareness, and inspection and maintenance procedures for all types of fire extinguishers. Please make sure you are logged in using your NAFED credentials in order to purchase training. If you are not an association member you will still need to create an online profile (select non-member option after selecting 'Log-in'). *Please note, we are presently working to update two training programs to match the standards cited on the new exams.* Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician online training program (6 hours, 8 EECs) Pre-Engineered Kitchen Systems Technician online training program (6 hours, 8 EECs) Training Programs Recharge of Portable Fire Extinguishers 1 EEC The Recharge of Portable Fire Extinguisher program provides NFPA-10 compliant instructions on the safe and correct recharge techniques and procedures for dry stored pressure dry chemical, various stored pressure clean agent, water type extinguishers and an overview of CO2 refilling. Continue More Information Introduction to Fire Extinguishers 30 minutes This general awareness training is intended to provide an overview and introduction to portable fire extinguishers. The majority of users of this program will be new technicians. Continue More Information Wheeled Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers 17 minutes, 1 EEC This training program is intended to provide a general overview of inspection, maintenance, and recharging procedures for wheeled dry chemical fire extinguishers. Continue More Information Inspection and Maintenance of Stored Pressure CO2 and Water Type Fire Extinguishers 40 minutes, 1 EEC This training program will cover the basics of inspection and maintenance procedures for stored pressure and CO2 fire extinguishers as well as additional information. NFPA 10 requires that all procedures follow the manufacturer's service manual. Please refer to the specific manufacturer's manuals for detailed procedures.
